Shepherd's Rest

Lovely place- difficult to find Positive: Very clean and lovely space. Alpacas were in the field in front and the view was stunning. Negative: The address on the site is not right, the owner of the property listed was so good considering everyone turns up at his home! The property is on the left after the 2 cream cottages and you pull in just after the old house, walk down the stoned pathway. There were no teaspoons and we had to wait overnight for hot water as you have to turn it on yourself. Roads leading to property are very narrow and stressful when you meet other vehicles.

Positive: Lovely stay

Absolutely stunning little cabin the views are spectacular, however if you book to chill out and relax in the hot tub do Positive: We loved the property the hut itself is brilliant Negative: The fact it’s advertised with a hot tub but when you get there you can’t use it because there was dead spiders and bits in the bottom and hair floating on the top of the water, indicating it hadn’t been emptied and cleaned out from the last time someone booked it. When I messaged about getting someone to clean it so we could use, bearing in mind I rang before we arrived to make sure there was a hot tub as no photos of it and received a text saying “there is one don’t worry” only to get there and it was a small blow up lazy spa, which was unusable.
